Literature Text

"Restless night, leave me be
I would like to rest in the dreaming sea.
Where delightfulness flows so full and free,
And I may pick the dream that is a pleasure to me.

"Such rest is divine, and needed for wake,
So allow me to sleep, for halcyon's sake.
Give me nice thoughts for the dreams I could make,
And your sweet embrace, please allow me to take.

"Oh restless night, please leave me be,
And I can start a new day filled with so much glee.
Dreams rise in mind, up there to tease me.
In rest I can catch them; let me sleep, and you'll see."
On March 30, 2007, my friend created a journal about her not being able to sleep; the journal is entitled "READ ME A BEDTIME STORY DAMMIT! >.<.

Anyway, also being tired as well, this poem came to me as I was trying to stay awake that night. I figured that a poem or song could work just as well as a story, especially if one falls asleep midway through.

I liked what I wrote, and wanted to submit it. Seeing that her birthday is on April 3rd, I thought that this would make for a nice gift to give to her...and it may help those in need of rest as well.

^_^

Anyway, I do hope that you all enjoy this little lullaby. It's read as though you are whispering it out loud to the night.

Happy Birthday Binny!
